Iveta Arnīte and her AEGEE story…

I guess my story started from my University. I had an intercultural communication lesson that seemed really interesting studies for me and I started to be curious about tourism and traveling, although my field of studies wasn`t exactly tourism. Then came the time when I had to write my bachelor thesis and chose about what to write. And I felt that it has to be something related with intenational communication. I told about this to one of my friends. It turned out that was and still is a member of the organization called AEGEE-Ogre, and he invited me to visit his AEGEE friends..

Candidatures for Agora Budapest

Do you think there are many different committes, commissions and positions on European level in AEGEE? Do you find it difficult to keep track on who to vote for what and why? The AEGEEan – AEGEE’s online magazine is there to help. The magazine which has grown impressingly since being launched one year ago is taking care of interviewing all the candidates for Agora Budapest, and here is a little re-cap on who is running for a position in what.

There are still some interviews left to be published in The AEGEEan, AEGEE’s online magazine, and you will be updated as soon as that is done.

Julia Lauren on her AEGEE journey so far

I joined AEGEE about 4,5 years ago. It was early spring 2008 and I started to plan my summer holiday. I wanted to travel somewhere but not alone. Then I received an e-mail about Summer Universities organized by different AEGEE-locals. So I decided to apply for different some in Germany and I got accepted to one. That summer I spent two amazing weeks in Germany with people around Europe and there was no more turning back. After such a great experience I wanted more!

After that summer I’ve been in many events around Europe. What makes it easy is to travel with AEGEE is that you can travel alone and end up spending time with new, interesting people around Europe. And what is perfect in AEGEE, is that even if you live far away from your European friends you always meet them in other events and you can visit them.

AEGEE-Ogre would like to invite you to NWM – The Power of People’s Unity!

The world is changing every day, the reality, which was yesterday, can be a past tomorrow. We have to know, what is happening not in our environment, – our own cities, countries, Europe, but outside these spheres as well. Everything is connected and linked in the world. If you want to discuss about democracy, peace and stability, the power of solidarity of people and youth cooperation in Europe, North Africa and Middle East, Aegee’s role in helping these youth outside Europe to live without fair, uncertainty and humiliation, when this event is just for you!

Welcome to the Nordic Stars

Hi there, welcome to the brand new blog of the Nordic Stars.

Who are we?

You might wonder who has created this blog and the answer is Karolina Mazetyte, the Network Commissioner of AEGEE-København, AEGEE-Helsinki, AEGEE-Lund, AEGEE-Tartu, AEGEE-Tallinn, AEGEE-Sankt-Peterburg, AEGEE-Riga, AEGEE-Kaunas, and AEGEE-Ogre together with her subcommissioner Patricia Anthony and the Public Relations Committee vice-speaker Réka Salamon.

Nordic Blog for what?

In our antennae  and in general in AEGEE we face a common issue: motivation of new members and promoting AEGEE in the best way. It is in our interest to have this blog to bring AEGEE closer to you at the same time as we would like to bring the antennae closer together, and together to us. There will be stories of the members, re-caps from The AEGEEan, reminders of Open Calls, news about merchandise and events from the locals and much more. It will be our main interest to get stories from the locals in the NetCom area of Karolina but this blog is also interesting for antennae in e.g. Spain, Portugal, Hungary or Poland who for a long time have been requesting some news about what is going on in the North.

Why not post on The AEGEEan?

There will be articles and posts on this blog relevant for The AEGEEan and there will be some that are not so relevant, however all of it will be interesting for members in the North as well as in the South and the East.

So stay tuned….
