Surveys of the week

It might be difficult to keep track of the surveys that arrive in your inbox frequently and that is completly understandable. Here you get a clear overview of the surveys pending at the moment. In case you use the 30 minutes or less that it would take to submit them then you would make a lot of people happy and contribute greatly to our organisation. Youth Participation, Strategic Plan and AEGEE Identity might all sound like big words but the common factor is that all those projects needs YOU to share your opinion, ideals, ideas and more.

AEGEE Identity – Who are we?

Maria Arends who is the subcommie of the Nordic Stars team responsible of the UK locals would like to make you aware of a survey that has been sent by the Comité Directeur lately. It is about the identity of AEGEE, which is, as you may know, a hot topic. The problem that we are facing is that nobody is really able to describe in a couple of words what AEGEE is and what we do. “I believe that it is very important that this is going to be defined, because it would make it so much easier for your campaigns or people that are interested to join your locals to explain them what AEGEE is and what it is that they can do. And why, of course, they should join your wonderful antennae!” Maria says with a smile when communicating with AEGEE-Sheffield, AEGEE-Durham and AEGEE-London.

Basically, it is not a hard survey, and the link can be found here:
Please share it with your members also, as there is a bonus… The local with the most respondents gets the opportunity to spend a weekend at the CD house. The tickets are not included, but they do provide you a city tour and make you familiar with their work, the house and for sure you will have a good time! You can fill it in until June 6th!

AEGEE-Helsinki wins AEGEE-Europe competition on sustainable travelling

We are proud to announce that the upcoming Spring Network Meeting organisers from AEGEE-Helsinki produced a very high quality video for AEGEE-Europe’s competition on sustainable travelling and they were chosen as the winner of the competition.

In November, InterRail offered two locals the unique opportunity to win 1250€ sponsoring their project or event for their creative video or poster on how to promote sustainable travelling. After careful evaluation of many creative entries, the jury consisting of Willemijn from InterRail, Iris from the Environmental Working Group, and the Comité Directeur, has chosen the two lucky winners! Congratulations and thank you once again to InterRail for offering this opportunity!”

You can read more about the competition and see AEGEE-Helsinki’s contribution right here.

Welcome to the Nordic Stars

Hi there, welcome to the brand new blog of the Nordic Stars.

Who are we?

You might wonder who has created this blog and the answer is Karolina Mazetyte, the Network Commissioner of AEGEE-København, AEGEE-Helsinki, AEGEE-Lund, AEGEE-Tartu, AEGEE-Tallinn, AEGEE-Sankt-Peterburg, AEGEE-Riga, AEGEE-Kaunas, and AEGEE-Ogre together with her subcommissioner Patricia Anthony and the Public Relations Committee vice-speaker Réka Salamon.

Nordic Blog for what?

In our antennae  and in general in AEGEE we face a common issue: motivation of new members and promoting AEGEE in the best way. It is in our interest to have this blog to bring AEGEE closer to you at the same time as we would like to bring the antennae closer together, and together to us. There will be stories of the members, re-caps from The AEGEEan, reminders of Open Calls, news about merchandise and events from the locals and much more. It will be our main interest to get stories from the locals in the NetCom area of Karolina but this blog is also interesting for antennae in e.g. Spain, Portugal, Hungary or Poland who for a long time have been requesting some news about what is going on in the North.

Why not post on The AEGEEan?

There will be articles and posts on this blog relevant for The AEGEEan and there will be some that are not so relevant, however all of it will be interesting for members in the North as well as in the South and the East.

So stay tuned….
